Why in news?  The international hockey federation (FIH) Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 will be held in the Indian state of Odisha

2023 – FIH Hockey World Cup Highlight

• India is hosting the series for the fourth time (only country to host 4 times)
• Odisha is hosting it for second time after 2018 (Mumbai (1982) ; New Delhi (2010))
• Host country: India
• Tournament will be held at : Kalinga Stadium , Bhubaneswar and Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium, Rourkela
• Official Mascot : Smiling Olly(to celebrate Olive Ridley Turtles and the state’s sustained effort to conserve their habitats)
