JAINA MONUMENTS IN KARNATAKA
Bahubali Statue: Shravanabelagola, located in the Hassan district, is home to one of the most iconic Jain monuments in Karnataka. The Gommateshwara Bahubali statue is a colossal monolithic statue carved out of a single block of granite. This statue, standing about 57 feet tall, is dedicated to Lord Bahubali and is a major pilgrimage site for Jains.
Thousand Pillars Basadi (Saavira Kambada Basadi): Moodabidri, known as the “Jaina Kashi of the South,” is famous for its Jain temples. The Thousand Pillars Basadi, also known as Saavira Kambada Basadi, is a remarkable example of Jain architecture. Built in the 15th century, it is renowned for its intricate carvings and the thousand pillars supporting the structure.
Chandranatha Basadi: Another significant Jain temple in Moodabidri is the Chandranatha Basadi, dedicated to Chandranatha, the eighth Tirthankara. This temple is known for its detailed architecture and beautiful wooden carvings.
Gomateshwara Statue: Karkala, located in Udupi district, is home to a 42-foot monolithic statue of Lord Gomateshwara, a similar but smaller version of the Bahubali statue at Shravanabelagola. The statue is situated on the rocky hill of Gomata Betta and is an important pilgrimage site for Jains.

Kundadri Temple, Shimoga : At the top of the Kundadri hill is a Jain temple dedicated to the 23rd Tirthankara, Parshvanatha. The temple, one of the famous Jain monuments in Karnataka, is constructed entirely of stone. It is believed that over 2000 years ago, a Jain sage by the name of Kundakunda Acharya stayed here. There are two small, natural rock ponds on one side of the temple. Not many people visit the temple as it is off the
