NEWS – The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved India’s participation in the Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) Agreement. The Ministry of Earth Sciences will lead India’s implementation of the agreement

  • Purpose: Address concerns over marine biodiversity conservation in areas beyond national jurisdiction, known as the ‘High Seas’.
