ABOUT ADPC

• Establishment: Founded in 1986 as an autonomous international organization.
• Purpose: Focuses on disaster risk reduction and building climate resilience in Asia and the Pacific.
• Vision: “Safer communities and sustainable development through disaster risk reduction.”
• Geographical Scope: Asia and the Pacific region.
• Founding Members: India, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
• Charter: Signed by nine founding countries; effective from 2018 after ratification by all members.
• Autonomous Status: Operates independently under the Board of Trustees since January 2020.
• Headquarters: Bangkok, Thailand.
