NEWS –  Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF)  operationalised with its first two initiatives: Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant (PMECRG) and Mission for Advancement in High-Impact Areas – Electric Vehicle (MAHA-EV).

  • Development of key Electric Vehicle (EV) technologies, including:
    • EV Batteries and Battery Cells.
    • Power Electronics, Machines, and Drives (PEMD).
    • Charging Infrastructure.

Goals:

  • Reduce dependence on imports, promoting domestic innovation.
  • Aligns with Atmanirbhar Bharat vision and strengthens India’s global competitiveness in EV sector.

Impact:

  • Enhances India’s capability in EV components, contributing to electric mobility.
  • Strengthens collaboration between academic, research, and industrial sectors.

THE ANUSANDHAN NATIONAL RESEARCH FOUNDATION (ANRF)

  • Established under the ANRF Act 2023
  • Goal – fostering a culture of research and innovation across India.
  • Aligned to National Education Policy (NEP).
  • The Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) has been subsumed into ANRF.
  • The ANRF has a funding target of ₹50,000 crore for the period 2023-2028.
