FOOD TESTING KIOSKS IN BENGALURU
FOOD TESTING KIOSKS IN BENGALURU
NEWS – The Food Safety and Standards Department inaugurated 10 kiosks equipped with advanced testing tools (FSSAI-approved) in Bengaluru’s major malls . Each kiosk features a “magic box” and rapid testing kits to detect adulterants and ensure food safety.
HIGHLIGHTS
Objective and Purpose of the Initiative
- The kiosks allow the public to test commonly consumed food items such as pulses, sugar, cooking oil, tea powder, salt, milk, ghee, paneer, butter, vegetables, coriander powder, and drinking water.
- The initiative targets pollutants in food, air, and water, aiming to deter adulteration and protect public health.
On-Site Food Testing and FSSAI Response
- Each kiosk is manned by an FSSAI-trained worker who will conduct on-the-spot testing of food samples brought in by the public.
- If any food sample is found to be substandard, the FSSAI will initiate actions to stop the sale and distribution of the product.
