PLASTIC WASTE REDUCTION – DRINKPRIME’S SUSTAINABLE MODEL

  • Startup: DrinkPrime (Bengaluru-based)
  • Problem Addressed: Excessive use of single-use 20-litre plastic water cans
  • Solution Highlights:
    • Over 2.5 lakh subscribers served
    • Reduces approx. 7.5 lakh kg of plastic waste/month
    • Closed-loop system: Reclaims, ultrasonically cleans, and reuses filters
    • Promotes circular economy and sustainable urban hydration

REVIVING WATER BODIES – UNITED WAY’S “WAKE THE LAKE”

  • Initiative: Wake the Lake
  • Achievements:
    • Revived 80 lakes in Bengaluru
    • Removed pollutants and rejuvenated aquatic life
  • Impact: Enhances urban water security and biodiversity

RAINWATER CONSERVATION – ONE BILLION DROPS CAMPAIGN

  • Focus: Groundwater recharge & rainwater harvesting
  • Actions Taken:
    • Installed 8,200+ rainwater harvesting wells
    • 10.4 million litres of water saved from runoff and evaporation
  • Benefit: Improved water availability and reduced water wastage in urban areas

BIODIVERSITY PROMOTION – INSECT CAFES BY EY GDS

  • Initiative: Set up 21 insect cafes in public gardens
  • Locations: Cubbon Park, Lalbagh, Doddasaagare Botanical Garden
  • Partnerships: EY GDS, Bhumi, Vibhinna India Foundation
  • Structure & Purpose:
    • Made from upcycled wood, bamboo, and mud
    • Provide safe spaces for pollinators (bees, butterflies, etc.)
    • Promote urban biodiversity and ecological balance
