ARTIC COUNCIL
- Formed in 1996 under Ottawa declaration
- Intergovernmental forum which addresses issues faced by the Arctic governments and people living in the Arctic region
- Mandate explicitly excludes military security
- As per the Ottawa declaration, the following 8 countries form the Arctic States:
- Canada
- Denmark
- Finland
- Iceland
- Norway
- Russia
- Sweden
- United States
