NEWS: The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) will introduce AI-enabled smart water meters under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to improve water management and reduce losses.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
- AI-enabled smart meters will initially be installed for around 1,000 large commercial and bulk consumers.
- Implemented through the PPP model, where a private concessionaire will install, operate, and maintain the meters.
- Project Cost: Approximately ₹120–130 crore.
- Concession Period: 12 years, including installation, operation, maintenance, and meter replacement.
