NEWS: The Union Health Ministry has introduced revised operational guidelines for the Anaemia Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (AMB) to strengthen anaemia prevention, early detection, treatment, nutrition, and digital monitoring.

Key Changes in the Revised Guidelines
- Programme renamed from Anaemia Mukt Bharat to Anaemia Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
- Added a 7th beneficiary group: Low birth weight infants (0–6 months).
- Introduced "Eating Right" component to promote iron-rich and diversified diets.
- Strengthened digital monitoring through an integrated beneficiary tracking system.
T4 Strategy
- Replaces the earlier T3 Strategy (Test, Treat, Talk) with T4 Strategy: Test, Treat, Talk, Track (continuous follow-up and monitoring),
- Institutional Strengthening Improves: Testing and treatment, Beneficiary tracking, Community participation, Programme monitoring and evaluation
Current Anaemia Burden (NFHS-5)
- Children (6–59 months): 67.1%
- Women (15–49 years): 57%
- Pregnant women: 52.2%
- Adolescent girls (15–19 years): 59.1%
Significance
- Promotes early intervention, better nutrition, digital health governance, and improved follow-up, helping reduce India's high burden of anaemia.
