Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated a 100 TPD cattle dung-based Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant in Gwalior.

About the Gwalior CBG Plant

  • The plant is located in Adarsh Gaushala, Gwalior, in the area of Laltipara.
  • It is India’s first modern, self-sufficient gaushala with an integrated CBG plant.
  • The Gaushala is managed by the Gwalior Municipal Corporation and houses over 10,000 cattle.

Key Features of the CBG Plant

  • The CBG plant is the largest cowshed in Gwalior, where biogas is produced from cattle dung and garbage (vegetable and fruit waste from mandis and homes).
  • This state-of-the-art plant is the first in Madhya Pradesh to convert waste into bio-CNG and organic manure.

Development and Investment

  • The project is spread over 5 acres and has been developed in collaboration with the Indian Oil Corporation.
  • The total cost of the project is Rs 31 crores.
