News: Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Google for Education India to enhance students' employability through industry-oriented skill development.

Context

Aims to bridge the industry–academia gap by equipping engineering students with future-ready digital skills aligned with NEP 2020 and industry requirements.

Key Highlights

• Training in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT) and Edge AI.
• Faculty Skill Development programmes to improve teaching quality and curriculum delivery.
• Establishment of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Edge AI at an estimated cost of ₹20 crore.
• Launch of Simulation-Enabled Experiential Learning (SEEL) platform for online virtual laboratory training.
• Support for GATE preparation, AI-powered mock interviews, technical webinars, workshops and internships.
• Access to around 1,900 industry projects to improve practical exposure and placements.
