Incremental Growth in Philanthropy

- This year’s list includes 203 philanthropists, with 96 new entrants.
- The total donation amount was Rs 8,783 crore, an increase of 55% compared to two years ago.

- To enter the top 10, donations had to reach at least Rs 154 crore, a significant increase from Rs 83 crore five years ago.

- Eighteen individuals donated over Rs 100 crore, up from just nine in 2019.
- Comparison with China: Despite having more billionaires and a larger GDP, China has only 25 philanthropists donating over Rs 100 crore.

- Philanthropy through NGOs and Foundations
- 91 philanthropists manage their CSR spending through partnerships with NGOs.
- 113 individuals have established personal foundations for their philanthropic contributions.
- Geographic Allocation of CSR Funds
- Maharashtra received the largest share of CSR funds from companies whose founders were listed.
- Significant contributions were also directed toward Gujarat.
