NEWS – The ICC announced three new additions to the ICC Hall of Fame, with England’s Alastair Cook, India’s Neetu David, and South Africa’s AB de Villiers becoming the latest inductees.

NEW INDUCTEES

Neetu David

  • Second-highest wicket-taker for India in women’s ODI cricket with 141 wickets.
  • First Indian woman to take 100 ODI wickets.
  • Over 100 international appearances.
  • Second Indian inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame, following Diana Edulji in 2023.

Alastair Cook

  • International career spanned over 12 years.
  • Key contributions to England’s success in the 2010-11 Ashes series and the 2012-13 Test series against India.
  • Statistics: 12,472 runs in Tests (average 45.35) + 3,204 runs in ODIs (average 36.40) + 61 runs in T20Is (average 15.25).
  • Known for his batting technique, focus, and patience.

AB de Villiers

  • Renowned for his ability to innovate and hit boundaries consistently.
  • Over 20,000 runs in international cricket across all formats.
  • Holds the record for the fastest-ever men’s ODI century.
  • Multiple ICC ODI Player of the Year awards.
  • Regular selection in the ICC Test Team of the Year.
  • Recognized as an exceptional fielder in addition to his batting prowess.

ICC CRICKET HALL OF FAME

  • Launched on January 2, 2009, in collaboration with the Federation of International Cricketers Associations (FICA).
  • Purpose: To recognize the achievements of cricket legends and celebrate the sport’s long and illustrious history.
