NEWS – The National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) has launched its first-ever Mid-Career Training Programme for civil servants from BIMSTEC nations.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Duration: The two-week programme runs from October 14 to October 25, 2024, in Mussoorie and New Delhi.
- Participants: Involves 36 civil servants from BIMSTEC countries (Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan) and 35 from the Maldives.
Objectives
- Focus: Emphasizes citizen-centric governance models.
- Goal: Enhance governance standards and foster regional cooperation among BIMSTEC nations.
Training Components
- Skill Development:
- Focus on upgrading skills to tackle modern governance challenges.
- Emphasis on digital transformation and public expectations.
- Practical Exposure:
- Field visits to various institutions, including:
- Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy
- Smart City Project and ITDA
- Smart School in Dehradun
- All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)
- National Science Centre
- Maruti Udyog Limited for corporate governance insights
- Cultural visit to the Taj Mahal.

- 34th Capacity Building Programme: Ongoing initiative for Maldivian civil servants, focusing on India’s administrative practices.
- Objective: Strengthen the longstanding relationship between India and the Maldives.
