About Influenza

• A contagious viral respiratory disease caused by Influenza A, B, and C viruses (A & B are responsible for seasonal flu epidemics).
• Transmission: Through respiratory droplets and contaminated surfaces.
• High-risk groups: Children below 5 years, elderly, and immunocompromised individuals.
• WHO Estimate: Seasonal influenza causes 2.9–6.5 lakh deaths annually worldwide.

About VaxiFlu-4

• A Quadrivalent Inactivated Influenza Vaccine developed by Zydus Vaccine Technology Centre (Ahmedabad).
• Prepared as per WHO-recommended strain composition.
• Protects against 4 influenza strains (2 Influenza A + 2 Influenza B).
• Approved by the Central Drug Laboratory (CDL).
