INTERNATIONAL BOOKER PRIZE 2026

Context (TH): Taiwan Travelogue by Yang Shuang-zià Won the International Booker Prize 2026, translated from Mandarin Chinese by Lin King.

It has become the first Mandarin Chinese translated work to win the International Booker Prize.

About International Booker Prize

·         Literary award recognising outstanding fiction translated into English and published in UK or Ireland.

·         Award honours both the author and the translator, with the £50,000 prize money divided equally between them.

·         Prize was launched in 2005 as the “Man Booker International Prize” à Biennial award.

·         It became an annual award for a single translated work of fiction by living authors of any nationality. In 2019, it was renamed the International Booker Prize.

·         Unlike the Booker Prize, which honours original English-language fiction, the International Booker Prize recognises fiction translated into English
