NEWS – Union government launched the Jiyo Parsi Scheme portal, a Central Sector Scheme to arrest the population decline of the Parsi community in India.

Objective: Reverse the declining trend of the Parsi population in India by adopting scientific protocols and structured interventions.

Components

Medical Assistance:

    – Financial assistance for medical treatment under standard medical protocol

    – Provided to Parsi couples

Advocacy:

    – Advocacy/outreach programs to generate awareness among the Parsi population

Health of Community:

    – Financial assistance for child care

    – Assistance for elderly people
