Current Status of Karnataka Public Schools
- Existing Schools:
- 308 Karnataka Public Schools operational in 204 taluks.
- Medium of Instruction:
- English and Kannada.
- Classes Offered:
- Lower Kindergarten (LKG) to Grade 12.
- Facilities Provided:
- Smart classes, interactive blackboards.
- Adequate number of teachers and classrooms.
Background and Objectives
- History of Karnataka Public Schools:
- Established to reduce dropout rates across educational levels.
- First 176 schools set up in 2018–19, followed by 100 in 2019–20.
- Aim to provide seamless education from Grade 1 to undergraduate level within a single institution.
- Reasons for Upgrading Schools:
- Address declining student progression to higher education.
