NEWS: The Karnataka Government has approved the establishment of the State's first government-run Women's Driver Training Institute at Bidadi Industrial Area near Bengaluru to promote women's participation in the transport sector.

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

• Location: Bidadi Industrial Area, near Bengaluru.
• Implemented by: Karnataka Transport Department in collaboration with BMTC, the Union Government, and the Karnataka State Commission for Women.
• Training Partner: Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC).

OBJECTIVES

• Enhance women's economic empowerment and employment opportunities.
• Increase women's participation in the transport and logistics sector.
• Provide professional driver training, road safety education, and skill development.

• Training in driving all categories of motor vehicles.
