NEWS – On June 18, 2024, Prime Minister recognized over 30,000 self-help groups as Krishi Sakhis in Varanasi.

- Part of the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ program aiming to create 3 crore Lakhpati Didis, Krishi Sakhi under KSCP empowers rural women as para-extension workers.
- The certification course aligns with the goals of the “Lakhpati Didi” Program.

Employment Opportunities for Krishi Sakhis
- After proficiency testing, certified Krishi Sakhis become Para-extension Workers, qualifying for various MoA&FW schemes activities with fixed resource fees.
Current Progress
- 34,000 out of 70,000 Krishi Sakhis have been certified as Para-extension Workers.
- Training initiated in 12 states including Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and others.
- Krishi Sakhis earning livelihood through various schemes like MOVCDNER, with an average annual income of INR 60K to 80K.
