IMPORTANCE OF MISSION INTEGRATED BIO-REFINERIES

• Greenhouse gas (GHG)emissions from transport and chemical sectors presently account for almost one-third of global emissions, with transport accounting for one-fourth, and are projected to rise by 2050, particularly from transportation.
• As a result, low-carbon and renewable alternatives to fossil-based fuels, chemicals, and materials are required, particularly in hard-to-abate sectors such as long-haul transportation and industry.
