News: NHAI has rolled out OneTag, a nationwide FASTag bank-portability facilityà It allows users to switch FASTag issuer banks without replacing the existing FASTag.
What is OneTag?
- Works like Mobile Number Portability (MNP) for FASTag.
- Users can change their FASTag bank while retaining the same RFID sticker and Tag ID.

How Does It Work?
- Rajmargyatra App → Enter vehicle registration number → Check eligibility.
- Authentication → Existing bank sends 6-digit MVC/OTP → User confirms consent.
- New Bank Selection → Choose participating bank → Complete KYC + wallet linking.
- NPCI Mapping → Updates NETC mapper → Transfers toll-debit authorization → Same Tag ID retained.
- Old Wallet Closure → Pending dues settled → Remaining balance refunded by previous issuer.
