NEWS: The Ministry of Women and Child Development has invited nominations for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) 2026, India's highest civilian honour for children.
ABOUT
- Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP)à Highest civilian award for children in India.
- Presented annually by the President of India on Veer Bal Diwas (26 December).
- Recognises children with exceptional achievements in various fields.
KEY FEATURES
- Six Categoriesà Bravery, Social Service, Environment, Sports, Art & Culture, and Science & Technology.
- Eligibilityà Indian citizens aged above 5 years and up to 18 years (as on 31 July of the award year).
- Achievement must have occurred within two years before the last date of nomination.
- Maximum 25 awards are given annually (can be relaxed by the Selection Committee).
AWARD & SELECTION
- Awardees receive: Medal, Certificate, and ₹1 lakh cash prize.
- Nominations can be made by individuals, institutions, government departments, or through self-nomination.
- Selected by a committee constituted by the Union Ministry of Women & Child Development, headed by its Secretary.
