  • Aims to promote floating solar power projects with battery storage across reservoirs and inland water bodies.

Key Features

  • Capacity Target → Add 5,000 MW of floating solar capacity (FY 2026–27 to FY 2030–31), increasing India's capacity from ~700 MW to 5,700 MW.
  • Energy Storage → Mandatory 10,000 MWh battery storage with a minimum 2-hour duration.
  • Central Financial Assistance (CFA) → ₹1 crore per MW after project commissioning.
  • Project Support → Up to ₹50 lakh per project for feasibility studies (bathymetry, hydrography, solar yield, ecological assessment).
  • Aatmanirbhar Bharat → Promotes domestic manufacturing of floating platforms, anchoring systems, solar PV modules, and batteries.
