News: India and Indonesia launched an international conservation and restoration project for the Prambanan Temple Compounds in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

About Prambanan Temple

• Largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia and one of the largest in Southeast Asia.
• Built in the 9th century CE by the Sanjaya Dynasty; dedicated to the Trimurti (Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma).
• Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site (1991).

Key Features

• Located on Java Island, near Yogyakarta.
• Shiva Temple (47 m) is the tallest and central shrine.
