NEWS – The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has launched a pilot project named ‘SaveMom’ that leverages artificial intelligence for maternal and child healthcare. The initiative focuses on providing continuous, personalized care for pregnant women, lactating mothers, and infants.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Project Name: SaveMom, developed by JioVio Healthcare.
- Target Group: Pregnant women, lactating mothers, and infants within BBMP limits.
- Follow-up: Comprehensive 1,000-day monitoring period covering the entire pregnancy and post-pregnancy phase.
Key Features of SaveMom:
- Centralized platform for healthcare data accessible by ASHA workers, doctors, and medical officers.
- Tracks health indicators such as symptoms, vital signs, and medical visits.
- Identifies high-risk pregnancies using AI-based analysis of collected data.
Enhanced Mobility and Continuity of Care:
- Saves data from both public and private healthcare providers, ensuring no loss of information when patients shift from one provider to another.
- Portable records enable mothers to access their health data even if they move outside BBMP limits.
Post-Pregnancy Support:
- Helps track infant vaccination records digitally, overcoming issues related to loss of hard copies.
- Ensures continuity of healthcare and vaccinations across different locations.
AI Devices for Health Monitoring:
- Pregnant women at high risk will receive wearable devices (bracelets or necklaces) that track vital parameters such as blood pressure and heart rate.
- Alarms will notify women and healthcare providers of abnormal changes.
Privacy Concerns:
- Concerns have been raised about data privacy, prompting the BBMP to address how personal information will be handled and accessed.
- The pilot will run for 6-9 months to assess and resolve privacy-related issues.
