- President Droupadi Murmu presented the Rajat Kamal Award for the documentary film ‘Naadada Navaneeta Pandit Dr. Venatesh Kumar’, produced by the Department of Information and Public Relations and directed by Girish Kasaravalli. The film has been adjudged the best art and culture film in the non-feature film category at the 68th National Film Awards for 2020. The award consists of a cash component of ₹50,000 each for the producer and the director.
- Taking forward the ‘Beyond Bengaluru’ concept, a two-day event Techcelera-tion-2022’ initiated and coordinated by Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) will be held in Hubballi to dis-play the progress achieved so far and deliberate upon the way forward. ‘Techcelera-tion-2022’ would bring together the entire ecosystem of industry leaders, start-ups and businesses to showcase the growth so far, the opportunities available and the road map ahead.
- The Bangalore city managed to secure the 43rd national rank by scoring 2,892.98 out of 7500. Bengaluru was one among the 45 cities with a population of above 10 lakh that was surveyed for ranking.
- The Karnataka Protection of Right to Freedom of Religion of Religion Bill, 2022, has received the assent of Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot. The Bill was passed a few days ago by the Karnataka State legislature. Now, the legislation provides for the protection of the right to freedom of religion and prohibition of unlawful conversion from one religion to another by misrepresentation, force, undue influence, coercion, allurement or by any fraudulent means.
- From a mere 124 verified healthcare professionals in its Health Professionals Registry (HPR) under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) in July, Karnataka now stands first in the country with 25,511 professionals registered in its HPR.

- The country’s first 4.20-MW wind turbine generator, a single unit with the largest generation capacity, has been installed at Vadalivilai near Valliyoor in Tirunelveli district.The Brazil-based WEG, involved in a range of businesses, including power generation, mining, oil, gas and sugar industries and having its manufacturing unit at SIPCOT Industrial Estate, Hosur, has installed the state-of-the-art gearless wind turbine generator at a cost of ₹88 crore at Vadalivilai, which is close to the advantageous Aralvaimozhi Pass.
