International Day for the Eradication of Poverty 2026: Observed annually on October 17 to raise awareness about global poverty and promote inclusive development + Multi-Year Theme (2026–2028) – “United for Peace and Human Rights” + 2026 Focus – “Safe Homes for All,” highlighting secure and adequate housing as essential for dignity, economic security and social inclusion + Housing Inadequacy – Over 2.8 billion people worldwide experience some form of inadequate housing + Electricity Access – Approximately 750 million people live without electricity + Extreme Poverty – Around 700 million people live in extreme poverty + Multidimensional Poverty – More than 1 billion people experience deprivation across multiple aspects of life.

World Menopause Day 2026: Observed on October 18, 2026, to raise awareness about menopause and improve support for women + Organising Body – International Menopause Society (IMS) + Theme – “Chronic Pain at Midlife – From Recognition to Evidence-Based Care” + Core Focus – Addressing chronic pain, joint aches and persistent physical discomfort during and after menopause + Key Concern – Challenging the dismissal or misattribution of women’s midlife pain + Objective – Promoting individualised, multidisciplinary and evidence-based clinical care.
