NEWS: The Ministry of Textiles concluded the two-day Textiles Summit 2026, focusing on sustainability, exports, global market expansion, and achieving India's USD 100 billion textile export target by 2030.

  • Brought together State Governments, industry, academia, and Export Promotion Councils.
  • Aimed to prepare a National Textile Export Roadmap focusing on product-market alignment, value addition, quality, innovation, and sustainability.

  • Sustainability & Traceability: Promoted environmental standards, quality certifications, digital product passports, traceability, circular economy, and textile waste management.
  • Export Competitiveness: Emphasised leveraging Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), diversifying export markets, promoting man-made fibres, and strengthening Brand India.
  • Districts as Export Hubs: Encouraged States/UTs to improve district-level export readiness and local manufacturing competitiveness.
