What is V2V?

• Enables nearby vehicles to wirelessly exchange real-time information.
• Shares data such as speed, position, direction and acceleration.
• Helps detect and warn about potential collision risks before accidents occur.

Technology & Standards

• Uses Cellular-V2X (C-V2X) technology.
• An On-Board Unit (OBU) enables vehicle-to-vehicle communication.
• Technical standard: AIS-230.
• Proposed phased implementation for new vehicles from 2027–28.

Safety Benefits

• Warns about sudden braking, unsafe lane changes, obstacles and low-visibility conditions.
• Can detect vehicles even when they are outside the driver's line of sight, such as around blind corners.
• Complements ADAS and enables more predictive road safety.
