The Union Cabinet enhanced the Government's commitment to NIIF to ₹60,000 crore to mobilise long-term investments for infrastructure development, attract global capital, and support India's strategic growth initiatives.
NEWS: Union Cabinet approved an additional ₹30,000 crore investment in National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF).

- Government of India's total commitment increased to ₹60,000 crore.

- Infrastructure Fund II (Target Corpus: ₹30,000 crore) will invest in: Transportation, Energy, Digital Infrastructure, Urban Infrastructure, E-mobility
- Currently manages ₹40,000 crore in capital commitments.
- Has returned nearly ₹12,000 crore to investors through portfolio exits.
INVESTOR PARTICIPATION
- Attracted investments from: Sovereign Wealth Funds, Pension Funds, Multilateral Development Institutions, Domestic Financial Institutions
- Major investors from Australia, Canada, Japan, Singapore, UAE, and USA.
- Australian Super announced an additional investment of A$500 million, over its earlier A$240 million commitment (2019).
