Rabindranath Tagore (1861–1941) was a Nobel Prize-winning poet and philosopher, author of Gitanjali, composer of India’s Jana Gana Mana and Bangladesh’s Amar Shonar Bangla, and founder of Shantiniketan, who promoted humanism, freedom, creativity, nature and peace.
