‘PROJECT KHUSHI’
NEWS – The Bengaluru City Police, in collaboration with Happiest Health, has launched ‘Project Khushi’, a health and wellness initiative aimed at addressing lifestyle-related diseases among police personnel. The programme, inaugurated on Thursday, seeks to prevent and manage conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and metabolic disorders.
HIGHLIGHTS
Programme Structure
‘Project Khushi’ combines expert-led in-person sessions with digital learning tools to ensure accessibility and sustained engagement. The initiative spans three months and comprises:
- Six live sessions by specialists in endocrinology, nutrition, ayurveda, yoga, and mindfulness.
- Weekly digital modules, shared via web stories, articles, videos, and practical tips.
- A dedicated WhatsApp support group, providing daily nudges, exercise reminders, and nutrition advice.
Health Assessments
Participants will undergo comprehensive health evaluations at both the beginning and conclusion of the programme. These assessments include:
- Glycaemic control tests to monitor diabetes risk.
- Organ function analyses to ensure systemic health.
- Thyroid and vitamin level checks for early detection of deficiencies and disorders.
Significance for Police Force
Police personnel often face irregular schedules, high stress, and lack of work-life balance, making them vulnerable to lifestyle diseases. By focusing on preventive care and holistic wellness, ‘Project Khushi’ aims to enhance both physical health and mental well-being of the force, ultimately improving their efficiency and resilience.
