Sample Size: 796 migrants from various northeastern states
Key Finding: 96% of migrants from the Northeast feel safe and secure in Bengaluru
Positive Factors Highlighted:
- Ample job opportunities
- Good climate and friendly people
- Less racism and discrimination
- Satisfaction with work culture, food, and access to amenities
Preferred Settlement: Many NE women migrants prefer settling in Bengaluru permanently
Subtle Discrimination:
- 28% reported discrimination
- Based on language, gender, pay gaps, and religion
Cultural Integration:
- Migrants attend cultural and social events
- Language barriers remain a challenge
Tribal Harmony:
- Despite tribal tensions in NE, migrants in Bengaluru live harmoniously
- 52% feel more united in Bengaluru than in their native states
