About Chandrayaan-3 Mission
- Chandrayaan-3, India’s third lunar mission, made a historic soft landing on the southern polar region of the Moon on 23 August 2023.
- India became the first country to land on the Moon’s south pole.
- The mission includes a lander and rover, carrying multiple scientific experiments.
Opportunity for Researchers
- ISRO has issued an Announcement of Opportunity (AO) for scientists to analyse data from Chandrayaan-3 experiments.
- The aim is to enhance scientific outcomes by involving researchers from outside ISRO and Department of Space.
Who Can Apply
- Faculty and researchers from universities, colleges, research institutions, and government organisations in India.
- Proposals can be submitted by individuals or groups of scientists.
- Principal Investigators (PI) must have at least four years of remaining service before retirement.
- Proposals must be forwarded through the head of the institution with proper assurance for support.
Project Details
- Project duration: 3 years, with possible extension of 1 year based on progress and review.
- Proposal deadline: 21 October 2025.
- Projects will be reviewed by a committee, and ISRO will provide annual feedback to improve research activities.
