NEWS – Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar’ (SNSP) Abhiyaan alongside the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh.
HIGHLIGHTS
Objective of the Campaign
- SNSP Abhiyaan is the largest-ever health outreach for women and children in India.
- Jointly implemented by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) and Ministry of Women & Child Development (MoWCD).
- Focuses on preventive, promotive, and curative health services for women at community level.
Key Features
- Over 10 lakh health camps from September 17 to October 2, 2025 across Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, CHCs, District Hospitals, and other government facilities.
- Screening and treatment for non-communicable diseases, anaemia, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease.
- Promotion of maternal, child, and adolescent health, including antenatal care, immunisation, nutrition, menstrual hygiene, lifestyle, and mental health awareness.
- Emphasis on obesity prevention, improved nutrition, voluntary blood donation, and community mobilisation.
- All tests and medicines available free of cost, with further treatment covered under Ayushman Bharat’s Suraksha Kavach.
Significance and Government Initiatives
- PM highlighted that healthy women strengthen families and drive national development.
- Campaign aims for early disease detection to prevent fatalities.
- Supports government schemes like Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, benefiting over 4.5 crore pregnant women with Rs 19,000 crore transferred.
- Special focus on tribal regions for sickle cell anaemia; over 5 crore people screened under the National Sickle Cell Anaemia Mission.
Community Mobilisation
- ASHAs, ANMs, Anganwadi workers, SHGs, PRIs, MY Bharat volunteers, and youth groups will lead grassroots mobilisation.
- Chief Ministers, Governors, MPs, and other public representatives are participating nationwide.
