NEWS – TALASH – Tribal Aptitude, Life Skills and Self-Esteem Hub was launched by National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS), under Ministry of Tribal Affairs, in collaboration with UNICEF India.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Target Group: Over 1.38 lakh students enrolled in Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) across 28 States and 8 UTs.
• Aim: Promote holistic development—academic, emotional, and career growth—of tribal students.
• First of its kind: National-level initiative exclusively for tribal students.

• Digital Platform: Supports self-discovery, skill building, and career planning.
• Psychometric Assessments:
  • Inspired by NCERT’s ‘Tamanna’.
  • Provides aptitude-based Career Cards for guidance.
• Career Counselling: Helps students align aspirations with skills and make informed choices.
• Life Skills & Self-Esteem Modules:
  • Focus on communication, emotional resilience, and problem-solving.
• Teacher Training:
  • Offers e-learning portal for teachers to mentor and guide students effectively.
