- Goal: Position Karnataka as a global biotech leader with a $100 billion market value by 2030.
- Targets:
- Create 300 biotech companies (including 50 innovative firms).
- Generate 30,000 jobs by 2029.
- Train 20,000 individuals through 200+ institutions.
- Focus Areas:
- Biomanufacturing for health, climate, energy, and food security.
- Emerging domains: bio-agriculture, marine biotech, synthetic biology, genomics, medical devices, space biotech, etc.
- Support & Incentives:
- Fiscal incentives for startups, MSMEs, and large firms.
- Funding & mentorship for early-stage startups; growth support for mid-stage firms.
- Preferential procurement for local biotech products.
- Regulatory Sandbox to fast-track innovation.
