Karnataka Electronics Systems Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) Policy 2017-22
Launched on 1st December 2017 by the Government of Karnataka via KITS, the ESDM Policy 2017-22 aims to:

Support 2,000 ESDM start-ups

Increase in-state value addition by 50%

Generate 20 lakh jobs by 2025

Grow ESDM revenues to USD 40 billion and exports to USD 16 billion by 2025

Infrastructure Initiatives:

Brownfield ESDM Cluster, Hubballi:
Established in Sandbox Start-ups with Govt.-Deshpande Foundation-IESA collaboration, offering subsidized plug-and-play space to promote indigenous ESDM products. -
VLSI Incubation Centre, Hubballi:
Set up at KLE Tech University in association with IESA, supports semiconductor chip design start-ups and provides access to licensed EDA software tools.
Special Incentive Scheme (2020–25):
Provides capital subsidies, stamp duty reimbursements, power tariff concessions, PLI, and electricity duty exemptions. ₹10 crore disbursed under this scheme.
