FIRST DIVISON ASSISTANT – KARNATAKA – EXAM PATTERN

QUALIFICATION : Any Degree

MODE OF RECRUITMENT : Written examination

MODE OF WRITTEN EXAMINATION :

PAPER 1 : COMPULSORY KANNADA PAPER  

  • DESCRIPTIVE PAPER  / 150 MARKS / 1.5 HOURS
  • Candidates who have passed the Kannada language test conducted by the KPSC, who had chosen kannada as first language or second language in SSLC exams of Karnataka ,  who have studied Kannada in any of the exams or other examinations declared by the Government of India or equivalent State Examination including kannada as an optional subject,  in the case shall be exempted from the compulsory Kannada language test.

PAPER 2 : GENERAL KANNADA / GENERAL ENGLISH

  • OBJECTIVE PAPER  / 100 MARKS / 1.5 HOURS
  • Candidates will answer either English or kannada as chosen by them and answer either of the paper

PAPER 3 : GENERAL KNOWLEDGE

OBJECTIVE PAPER  / 100 MARKS / 1.5 HOURS

: SYLLABUS :

  • The paper on compulsory Kannada would include Power to understand and comprehend Kannada language and Kannada grammar, Short Essay , Comprehensive understanding of the subject, Usage of words, Translation from English to Kannada, Vocabulary, Spelling, Synonyms, Antonyms, Ability to discriminate between correct & incorrect usage
  • The paper on General English or General Kannada will normally conform to the minimum standard expected of a student who has passed the Bachelor’s Degree Examination of a University. It is intended to test candidate’s knowledge of English/Kannada grammar, vocabulary, spelling, synonyms, antonyms, his power to understand and comprehend English/Kannada language and his ability to discriminate between correct and incorrect usage, etc.,
  • The paper on General Knowledge will normally conform to the minimum standard relating to General Knowledge, expected of a student who has passed Bachelor’s Degree Examination of a University and will cover questions on the Constitution of India, Indian History and Culture, General and Economic Geography of India, Current Events, every day science and such matters of every day observation as may be expected of an educated person.
