Scheme Funding
- Total size of the scheme: Rs 300 crore.
- Rs 100 crore from the state government.
- Rs 200 crore expected from companies as CSR contributions.
- Major participating firms: TCS, Infosys, Wipro.
Industry Collaboration
- Key participants:
- IT majors: TCS, Infosys, Wipro.
- Other companies: Bosch Global, Tata Technologies, Capgemini.
- Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI).
- Educational institutions: Bangalore University, Visvesvaraya Technological University.
Objectives
- Provide industry-relevant skills to youth in:
- Cybersecurity
- Cloud computing
- Artificial intelligence
- Equip youth for global and local success.
- Strong public-private partnerships for better training alignment with industry needs.
Target Audience
- Youth across Karnataka.
- Women re-entering the workforce after maternity breaks.
Implementation
- Skilling to be delivered in cities and district centres.
- Mode of delivery (online/offline) yet to be finalised.
- Standardised procedure to be applied across Karnataka.
