- K. V. NARAYANA
- K. V. Narayana is noted Kannada literary critic and linguist.
- Work: Awarded for his literary criticism ‘Nudigala Alivu’.
- Award Presentation: Scheduled for March 8, 2025.
- Prize: ₹1,00,000 and a plaque.

- Hindi and English Writers:
- Gagan Gill for her poetry book ‘Main Jab Tak Aai Bahar’.
- Easterine Kire for her novel ‘Spirit Nights’.
- Konkani Poet:
- Mukesh Thali for his essay ‘Rangtarang’.

ABOUT THE SAHITYA AKADEMI AWARD
- Established: 1954 by Sahitya Akademi, India’s National Academy of Letters.
- Purpose:
- Recognises outstanding literary works in 22 Indian languages (as per the 8th Schedule) and in English and Rajasthani.
- Promotes excellence in Indian writing and acknowledges new trends.
- Selection Process:
- Annual process considers books published in the preceding twelve months.
- Design of Plaque:
- Originally made of marble.
- Redesigned by filmmaker Satyajit Ray.
- Temporary substitution with savings bonds during the 1965 Indo-Pak war.
