NEWS – NIXI’s Internet Governance Internship and Capacity Building Scheme
CAPACITY BUILDING SCHEME
- Launched by the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI).
- Aims to build awareness and expertise in internet governance (IG) among Indian citizens.
- Focuses on enabling effective engagement in global IG processes with organizations like ICANN, ISOC, IEEE, and IETF.
- Seeks to develop domestic talent capable of addressing emerging IG issues.
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DETAILS:
- Bi-annual internships with two tracks:
- Six-month program
- Three-month program
- Mentorship provided by:
- Experts from international organizations (ICANN, APNIC, APTLD)
- Special Interest Group members
- Retired high-ranking government officials
- Faculty advisors from recognized institutions/universities
- Stipend: ₹20,000 per month.
- Support for mandatory outreach programs.
