Why in news? India Post started an evening post office in Bengaluru, the second such post office in Karnataka after the first one opened in Dharwad last year

Highlights

• It is situated on Museum Road and is an initiative by the Karnataka Postal Circle
• The evening post office timing’s is from 1 pm to 9 pm, six days a week.
• It mainly caters to serve and benefit working professionals ,struggle to courier parcels.
• Services offered are post speed post, parcel booking, aadhaar services, picture postcards, and philately services
• Apart from normal services, people can purchase augmented postcards. Scanning the postcards will showcase the history of the picture
• The entire post office is vibrantly painted with the history of the post offices.
• Note : To encourage LGBTQ artists, the task was assigned to Aravani Art Project.
