NEWS – NIXI’s Internet Governance Internship and Capacity Building Scheme

CAPACITY BUILDING SCHEME

  • Launched by the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI).
  • Aims to build awareness and expertise in internet governance (IG) among Indian citizens.
  • Focuses on enabling effective engagement in global IG processes with organizations like ICANN, ISOC, IEEE, and IETF.
  • Seeks to develop domestic talent capable of addressing emerging IG issues.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DETAILS:

  • Bi-annual internships with two tracks:
    • Six-month program
    • Three-month program
  • Mentorship provided by:
    • Experts from international organizations (ICANN, APNIC, APTLD)
    • Special Interest Group members
    • Retired high-ranking government officials
    • Faculty advisors from recognized institutions/universities
  • Stipend: ₹20,000 per month.
  • Support for mandatory outreach programs.
