News: The Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation (RMAF) announced the 68th batch of laureates in 2026 — Tommy Koh, Runa Khan and Bo Kyi.

About the Award

• Established: 1957 → honours the legacy of Ramon Magsaysay, former President of the Philippines.
• Known as: “Asia’s Nobel Prize” → recognises exceptional leadership, courage, integrity and selfless public service.
• Scope: Recognises individuals/institutions contributing to social development, governance, human rights, peace and environmental protection.
• Selection: Independent and confidential nomination + vetting by the RMAF Board of Trustees.
• Award: Medallion + certificate + cash grant.

2026 Laureates

• Tommy Koh (Singapore): Diplomacy + international law; played a key role in UNCLOS negotiations.
• Runa Khan (Bangladesh): Floating healthcare, education + disaster relief for climate-vulnerable communities.
• Bo Kyi (Myanmar): Human rights + support for political prisoners through the AAPP.
