  • The World Blood Donor Day is celebrated every year on June 14 to thank the altruistic acts of selflessness of voluntary blood donors and celebrate life and humanity. The slogan or theme of the World Blood Donor Day 2023 is “Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often.”

  • The Archives at the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) in Bengaluru announced the launch of a new collection of archival material, related to the entomologist and plant pathologist Leslie Charles Coleman, who worked in the princely state of Mysore in the early 20th century. The collection documents the work of Coleman, a Canadian who was the first Director of Agriculture in Mysore State in pre-independent India between 1913 and 1934.
