Significance: First-ever tri-commissioning of naval platforms, marking a major leap towards the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

Naval Platforms Commissioned

  1. INS Nilgiri
    • Lead ship of Project 17A frigates.
    • Features enhanced firepower, reduced heat signature, and improved stability with a concealed deck.
    • Introduced a deck rail system for the first time in India.
    • Accommodates structural changes to include women officers and sailors.
  2. INS Vaghsheer
    • Sixth and final submarine of Project 75 Kalvari class.
    • Advanced diesel-electric stealth submarine with long endurance.
    • Most advanced and stealthiest conventional submarine in the world.
    • Celebrates the legacy of the previous INS Vaghsheer commissioned 50 years ago.
  3. INS Surat
    • Fourth and final ship of Project 15B destroyers.
    • Highlights matured design and construction processes.
    • Reduced construction time from 54 months (first ship) to 31 months.
    • Advanced air, surface, and underwater combat capabilities.
