NEWS: Indian theoretical physicist Deepak Dhar has been named a corecipient of the Dirac Medal for outstanding contributions to theoretical physics.

• Named after: P.A.M. Dirac, renowned 20th-century physicist.
• Awarded: Annually on 8 August, Dirac’s birthday.
• Awarded by: International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP).
• Prize: Medal + US$5,000.

• Important: It is not restricted to Nobel/Fields/Wolf laureates; however, some recipients later received these honours.
